Kovahange Safaris – Hunting in the Heart of Namibia
Kovahange Safaris is a family-run business based at Farm Georg-Ferdinandshöhe, near Otjiwarongo in northern Namibia. The hunting farm covers approximately 13,000 hectares of varied landscape: open savannahs, hilly terrain, dry riverbeds, granite hills and sparse thorn bushes, typical of Namibia's central highlands.
What makes Kovahange unique is their personal approach and focus on hunting with respect for nature. There are 23 game species available for hunting, including popular species such as:
- Oryx (gemsbok)
- Kudu
- Warthog
- Ibex and duiker
- Wildebeest
- Zebra
- Eland
- And other antelope species.
Hunting is mainly done on foot (walk & stalk), which ensures an intense and fair hunting experience. In addition, there are opportunities for bow hunting and hunting from a high seat, depending on the hunter's preference and the season. All hunting is accompanied by a licensed professional hunter (PH).
Kovahange also offers excellent accommodation. Guests can stay on the farm itself, in a comfortable lodge with full board, or opt for a more adventurous option at one of the four private campsites. Each campsite is equipped with a braai (barbecue), a shelter and access to clean sanitary facilities. There is also room for guests with pets, which is quite unique for Namibian farms.
In addition to hunting activities, there is plenty of opportunity for relaxation: walks in the fields, bird watching, viewing rock paintings on the property, or simply enjoying the peace and expanse of the landscape. The region around Otjiwarongo is also ideally located for exploring other parts of Namibia, such as Etosha National Park, Waterberg Plateau and the Erindi Private Game Reserve.
Kovahange Safaris attaches great importance to sustainability, wildlife management and customer focus. The company is suitable for both experienced hunters and those looking for their first African hunting experience, with tailor-made options available.
